Dementia Care

The incidence of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia is on the rise. That’s why Mountain View Senior in greensburg near Westmoreland, Pennsylvania specialises in Dementia care area and offers 24-hour specialist care to its residents with dementia.

Our dementia care staff have a thorough understanding of the different types of dementia thanks to the training they receive. Whether it’s memory loss, falls, communication difficulties, behavioural changes or other symptoms, we gently guide our residents through their journey while encouraging, supporting and reassuring them at all times.

Residents are cared for in safe and caring environments, where all staff are specifically trained to be able to manage the changing needs of our residents. Training includes the need for patience, tolerance and kindness, as well as observation and encouragement at all times. Our staff are taught to always see the individual rather than the disease.

Mountain View Senior’s overriding ethos is to maintain a warm, homely, non-institutional environment. Each resident with dementia can relax in their own spacious private room and en-suite shower room, or take part in all the social activities that a Mountain View Senior home has to offer, as they choose. If you would like to find out more and find out if we can help dementia care for you or your loved one, please do not hesitate to call our home and make an appointment for a visit at your convenience. It’s not just the environment that makes a huge difference in caring for people with dementia. Our chef is trained to produce fresh, home-cooked, nutritious meals that encourage our residents to eat and take part in the highly social activity of enjoying food. Our leisure and wellbeing coordinators and care staff are all trained to provide stimulating individual and group activities. When excellent care is combined with good food, physical and mental stimulation, well-being and satisfaction are promoted, and that’s what we want for every resident at Mountain View Senior.
